Country Fare - Our
major fund-raising event, held each year the first Saturday after Labor Day,
offering an auction, flea market, book corner, crafts, clothing boutique,
food, horse rides for the children, and fun for all. |

Clay County Food Pantry
- Our church contributes to the operation and financial support of this
organization, which feeds about 100 Clay County families weekly. Good shepherd
volunteers operate the pantry on Fridays during March and assist at other
times as needed. |

Meals for Friends -
Volunteers from Good Shepherd participate weekly in a program for delivering
hot meals to the homebound and infirm of Clay County. We deliver the Tuesday
meals to three assigned routes. |

DeSoto Square is a HUD
supported, low-income housing complex, which was sponsored by Good Shepherd,
along with one other Episcopal church and two Catholic churches. DeSoto Square
is governed by representatives from all four churches and serves a great need
for affordable housing for the elderly. |

HouseRaising Volunteers
- Many volunteers from Good Shepherd help with the carpentry and other aspects
o building houses in Clay and Cherokee Counties for low-income families. Fiver
parishioners currently serve on the Board of Directors. |

School Supplies for Kids
is an outreach project whereby our members fill large shopping bags with
varied school supplies that are distributed by Clay and Towns County family
service agencies to children who need them. |

Relay for Life - Good
Shepherd members walk and sponsor walkers in this annual American Cancer
Society fund raiser. |

CROP Walk
- Good Shepherd supports this Church World Service "Walk for Hunger" with
walkers and sponsors. |

Trinity
Soup Kitchen - Sponsored by Hinton
Rural Life Center, members from our church join others from the community in
serving a meal one Sunday in July to the homeless in Atlanta, while others
participate by providing soup and helping make sandwiches for the meal. |

Al Anon
- Good Shepherd opens its doors to an Al Anon group that meets downstairs each
Thursday at noon. |
 |
Blood Drive
- Our Church participates in the local Ministerial Association effort to aid
the American Red Cross by sponsoring an annual blood drive and supporting the
community-wide effort. |

Thanksgiving baskets
- Ample provisions for a complete Thanksgiving meal for three Georgia families
and three North Carolina families are provided by our parish family. |

Christmas Angel Tree
- Parishioners fulfill christmas wishes from our Outreach Angel Tree to bring
Christmas joy to several families in Georgia and in North Carolina. |

Operation Christmas Child
- is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse of Boone, NC, and provides another
opportunity for Christmas sharing as stacks of shoeboxes are filled with
treats, toys and useful items to be delivered to needy children all over the
world. |

Alternative Christmas Gift Market
- Local and international charitable organizations are represented at our
Alternative Christmas market, offering gifts that keep giving. |
