Purpose

Why pray? Because, Jesus did. He prayed at least three times a day. He prayed by himself and with others. At times he prayed for himself but most often he prayed for others. As we look at Jesus’ practice of praying, we look at the answer to the question, "does prayer matter?" Yes it does, as the Son of God felt a compelling need to pray. This prayer group offers prayer covering for the Healing Ministry at Good Shepherd.

Prayer Time

You are asked to pray at home each day for the Healing Ministry and will be given other specific requests to pray each week. Each week on Thursday at 11:00 am there will be prayer time at Good Shepherd Church for group prayer.

A Prayer for Healing Ministry

At this hour, Heavenly Father,
we pray to You in a mighty way
in the name of Jesus Christ,
the First Intercessor and Great Physician,
who stands between You and our sins.

Open our hearts, our minds, and our ears Lord,
and give us Your divine protection,
guidance
and Godly wisdom
as we pray for our priest John Rice,
our deacon, Turner Guidry,
and our Healing Ministry.

Lord, we put our trust in You
and ask for Your tender mercy,
a fresh touch of Your loving kindness,
perfect grace
and that we are drenched in the Holy Spirit
to surround us at Good Shepherd
as we pray for the needs of others.
